We recommend qualified tutors to help with school, college, university and some professional subjects for all ages: we can help a student build confidence, develop self belief, learn study skills, learn how to revise and study and improve the enjoyment of learning as well as help students with exams and to improve grades.
We take an holistic view of education and learning and understand that learning is not just about understanding a subject - it is about how we learn, having confidence in our ability, having the motivation to study or revise and being able to deal with pressures.
Choosing the right tutor to match the individual learning needs and personality of the learner is vital and so we take the time to gain a full understanding of the clients learning requirements before recommending a tutor. For some, this is straight forward - for eg you may just need entrance exam preparation or additional help with a subject. For others, its is more complex and for parents concerned about their childs education and learning but not knowing exactly why their child isn't progressing as they should we are happy to discuss options available
We also try to gain an understanding of why a student is having difficulty learning or why a student may not achieve their full potential - it could be that they lack confidence in their ability and actually have good subject knowledge but are afraid to accept it, or are not told so often enough! If this is the case, as often is, then we have fun, programmes and workshops that could help.
We usually only recommend one tutor at a time, though a list of suitable tutors is available on request. Once you have met or spoken with your recommended tutor you are entirely free to decide whether the individual is right for you and the needs of your family. If you are in any way unhappy with the match we will provide you with another introduction. From this point on, all arrangements become entirely within your control.
When home tutoring is arranged the fees per hour as quoted are payable direct to your tutor. Hourly fees will vary according to subject(s) and level(s) so please contact 1-2-1 Home Tutors for details on the subjects and tutoring you are interested in.
Though we hope you will be happy with the tutor we recommend, we do not put you under any pressure or obligation to employ the tutor. This is entirely your choice and you proceed only when you are happy and have discussed tuition with the tutor and have agreed lesson times and terms etc.
We recommend that all our tutors be clear at the beginning about their terms and conditions - these vary per tutor but will be agreed with you in advance - for more information about the usual terms and conditions of our tutors >>
Our tutors are professionals and we recommend they ask you to enter into a contract with them, once terms have been agreed - for more information about a tutor contract >>
