End of term - school reports (July 08)

Its that time of year again! The term ends and parents across the country are reading school reports and finding out that, actually, their child isn't doing as well as they thought...its a common theme and we hear it a lot. Have you wondered why - do you blame your child: didn't work as hard as they should or left revision too late. Maybe they said they were revising and you're not convinced. Well, it could be they did try very hard to study, but it was fruitless. They don't know how to revise or how best to study. Well, they wouldn't be alone. So many young people are not sure how to study or revise [after all why should they; its not something they're usually taught] and lose motivation because of it

Difficult decisions (June 08)

Making choices that could influence their future lives  is a tough responsibility for teens. Year 9 options for GCSE can affect choices for AS and A level or equivalent, which in turn can affect university or  other post-school options.  These choices are often made 'in the dark' with no real advice/planning available to young teens and decisions are led by peers and teachers/parents. At 1-2-1 Home Tutors we understand the pressures these choices bring and have professionals available to help guide the choices. Learn more>>
