Your privacy is important to us and we undertake not to share your details with any unconnected company or organisation unless under a legal obligation to do so.

We only collect personal information that is necessary for us to be able to provide the services you request from us.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

The personal information we collect only includes the minimum personal information that is required for us to be able to provide the services you request from us.

The personal information you give us may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, and for tutors your academic achievements and employment history.

We keep the personal information of all tutors and clients who contact us, or who register with us, private and safe.

Clients

To find you a suitable tutor we may need to collect additional personal information about you/your child/children. This may include the following

  • Subjects and level you need tutor(s) for
  • Student’s age/year group
  • General information about what you are seeking help with
  • Current school, including their exam board, predicted/target grades.

We will only share the personal information you provide with prospective tutors that fit your requirements and who are listed as being currently and actively seeking to take on more students. If there is information you do not wish us to share with a prospective tutor we recommend then please let us know and we will withhold this information until you tell us differently.

Tutors

To register you as a tutor we need to collect additional personal information to allow us to assess your suitability. For tutor registration we collect personal data that includes the following:

  • Your full name and title as well as any other names you have been known by
  • Your phone number
  • Your physical address including postcode and town of residence
  • Your Date of Birth
  • Your gender, personal statement, availability, qualifications and experience
  • Photo identification (accepted documents are either a passport or driving license)
  • Proof you are able to work in the UK (eg an NI number/payslip)
  • A DBS document
  • Contact Details of at least two references, with the referee responses to our questionnaire
  • Subjects you tutor, including expected rates per hour.

To perform the service you request from us and to be able to recommend you as a tutor to a prospective client we will share some of your basic personal information with a prospective client that has requested out services. This basic personal information will include an agreed contact number and email address and provide a brief overview of your qualifications, experience and suitability and rate. We never share full address details, Date of Birth, photo ID, DBS or personal referee details. We will only ever disclose the general area in which you live, that you have a DBS and an approximate age, if necessary to be able to recommend you to a prospective client.

Your Data Protection Rights & Deletion Request

Under data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or request the erasure of your personal data. If you wish to withdraw your consent or request that your details be permanently deleted from our database, please contact us directly by email at info@121hometutors.co.uk. We will process all deletion requests within 30 days.

Reasons for sharing your personal information

We pass on your personal data only for the legitimate reasons that we are entitled to by the nature of our business. This is so that we can manage enquiries and registrations received to give the best possible service asked of us.

If you are a registered tutor or current client we will legitimately communicate with you for as long as required to fulfil our mutual commitments.

If you do not contact us to request that your details be taken off our data base,  we will delete your information after 7 years.
